Utopia Chamber Choir will travel to Lisbon to immerse themselves in Portuguese Renaissance music under the direction of British Renaissance music expert and conductor Rupert Damerell. The choir will perform at the Madre de Deus Monastery on Saturday, April 6th, at 4 pm. The concert program is a “Portuguese Requiem”, consisting of music from several Portuguese Renaissance composers. The beautiful and moving pieces of the Requiem offer an interesting, deep insight into the music of the most important Portuguese Renaissance composers, including Manuel Cardoso, Duarte Lobo, Pedro de Escobar and Filipe de Magalhães.
